Ben's new room

Benjamin finally got a big bed! If we hadn't moved, he would have stayed in his crib. He loved his crib and has actually asked for his little bed back. With his new bed I thought he needed a big kid room. Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't do color. I stick with neutrals...its how I decorate, its what I wear, it is with everything I do. It is who I am. But my good friend and designer Danielle (www.danielleoakeyinteriors.blogspot.com) talked me into adding a little splash of yellow.

Danielle helped me find fabric and everything. I recovered the lamp and also the front of the storage boxes. It was really easy and a lot of fun to see it take shape. I love how the room turned out.

Good Bye Utah, Hello Louisiana

Moving day finally came. We delayed it as long as possible to escape the heat but now we are on our way! I never thought i'd be able to say that I have lived in Baton Rouge...

St. George Marathon

Megan took Benjamin for two days while Brett and I headed to St. George for the 3rd year in a row. Brett was a little unprepared for the race this year, but decided to run it anyway. He had a great race, not his best, but I am always happy to see him cross the finish line. He disappeared for an hour after the race and I was so worried. I waited and waited until he finally showed up. He went to the medical tent to get hydrated because he was feeling really dizzy. It was a hot day which does not help .

Brett said he was done running marathons after this one...I don't buy it.

One last trip to Silver Lake

With literally days left before we moved to Baton Rouge we tried to fit in all of our favorite things. Silver Lake at Brighton is a place we love to go. We went in the morning when the weather was still cool and crisp. It was a perfect way to say goodbye for now.

BYU vs UTAH

The game was a major bust. BYU got killed. But Brett and I got a fun night out together. At least we got something good out of the night...

The Utah State Fair

We went to the fair with Danielle and Emory and meet up with Ginger and Erin. I don't remember the last time I was at a fair, but this ones was fun!

California

We spent the month of August in California. First we went Newport Beach for two and a half weeks with Brett. Then Benjamin and I took off for a week to Los Altos to spend some time with Sarah, Jeff, Jack and baby Lauren.

Here is how we kept busy...

We drove from Newport Beach to Los Altos with Sarah, Jack and Lauren. We had three sleeping babies in the back and didn't want to wake them by getting out of the car so this is how we got out. It worked for us!
