My Babe Loves to Read

This chair is called the reading chair. Ben and I go here often to read and lately I have found him in the chair reading all by himself. I love that he loves to read. Brett and I spend a lot of nights lounging and reading, so it seems that this little guy is just keeping up with family tradition.

My sick boy...

This happened with no warning! We were driving home from running some errands and Ben told me to pull over because he had to go to the bathroom. I turned around to tell him that we were almost home and out came everything Ben had eaten in the last couple of hours. Oh my goodness! It was so sad/ yucky! I felt so bad for this little guy. He was so upset.

As we pulled in the driveway he asked me (once he had calmed down), "Mama, what are those purple things"? I told him they were grapes. He said "Oh, I ate those earlier with Emee."
I hate it when my little babe isn't feeling well. At least he is really cuddly!

Skiing

Ben has been ready to ski since we moved to Utah and took him to Snowbird. With the weather warming up, I decided it was time to give it a go. Ben had a blast just getting his skis and boots. The guys helping us were loving Ben. He was so excited!
He had t0 practice as soon as we got home. He didn't like the walking in the boots. I think they weigh half as much as he does!
Alta is the best place to go with little kids. The rope tow is great and it is free. Ben loved going up and down and kept telling me to go faster and faster. Little did he know that the bunny hills don't allow form much speed... One day we will hit the big hill. For now we will stick with the rope tow.

Spring is...not here.

Spring has definitely been in the air lately in Salt Lake. Ben has been able to spend more and more time outside and it has been wonderful. But every once in awhile we get reminded that spring is not quite here. The good thing is that the snow is beautiful and it melts fast.
This snow storm came fast and furious. My friend Ali was in town with her twin boys- they are 4 months old. We woke up in the morning to over a foot of snow and no electricity! With all the trees in the area, power lines are a frequent casualty. It was quite the production to get Ali, the twins, Ben and myself to my sister Megan's house with no car (garages had no power). But all in all we great time.

Party Time!

Ben's little best friend Emory had her 3rd party. It was a Where's Waldo theme and I can't believe how darling these kids are! Love the glasses and stripes... I just had to post these pictures!

New Orleans!!

We spend an awesome week in New Orleans with my parents and it was FANTASTIC!! The pictures say it all!
We went to one of our favorite restaurants n Bourbon Street, The Desire Oyster Bar. They have great food and a great atmosphere. Ben loved the street performers on Bourbon Street. He would watch and dance and would go to my dad or Brett to get money to give them. We had to keep going back to this guy who played the saxophone because ben loved him so much.
Then we headed to Cafe Du Monde and had beignets. So yummy!
The best part of the whole trip was watching Benjamin on the street cars. Mimi would hand him his quarters and he would hop up the stairs, put his money in the machine and then find his seat. He would ride the street cars for hours if we let him! It was really cute to watch. He and my mom even rode around for an hour on it while Brett and I went to the World War II museum.
Waiting for the street car
We spent one dat at Audobon Park. There were the most amazing moss covered trees and a really fun park for Ben. The little lake had a million ducks and Ben couldn't get enough of them.

Mardi Gras!!! We watched a pre-mardi gras parade and it was awesome! Ben yelled to all the floats to get beads. It was so funny to watch. I'm pretty sure the beads around his neck weighed about 5 pounds!
Mimi and Papa got in on the action... My dad and I wanted to go back for more parades but Brett and my mom decided we had enough beads for one night.
